UfM Secretary General Mr Fathallah Sijilmassi and Mr Jean-Christophe Menet, Chief of UfM Cabinet, head to Paris to participate in a seminar on Euro-Mediterranean relations to be held by the French National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee. Chaired by Mrs Elisabeth Guigou, the event will take place on 10 April 2014. The Union for the Mediterranean joins the international community in expressing the need to find global and regional solutions to address the challenges surrounding energy and water (water-energy-nexus), highlighting the interlinkage of the two sectors, and the need for more resource-efficiency, which is a particular concern also in the Mediterranean region. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean participated today in the seminar ‘Promoting a Culture of Mediation and Prevention in the Mediterranean’, organised in Bro, Slovenia, by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bled Strategic Forum.
