UfM Secretary General meets with Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiades Varvitsiotis, ahead of the Regional Growth Conference in Patras

3-4 June 2021, Patras.UfM Secretary General, Nasser Kamel held a bilateral meeting with the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Miltiades Varvitsiotis, in view of reinforcing cooperation and synergies between the UfM Secretariat and the Hellenic Republic.

The meeting took place in the margin of the 9th Regional Growth Conference.The Regional Growth Conference (RGC) in Patras, a public platform for dialogue between governmental, regional, academic and business representatives. Its main goal is to address challenges, best practices and policies promoted by European Institutions that need to be implemented in the Regional Development in an effort to bring forward the necessary regional governance model for Greece. Since its inception in 2013, the Regional Growth Conference takes place annually in Patras, Greece and is organized by PELOPONNISOS newspaper, which is the oldest and most historic newspaper in Greece.

During the conference, the Secretary General also met with Greek local and regional authorities, notably the Governor of Western Greece and the Governor of the Ionian Islands, as well as with journalists, from the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, and businessman, such as the Hellenic Impact Investing Network.
