UfM participates in High-Level Meeting on Challenges in the Southern Mediterranean

Barcelona, 1 October 2014. The European Union, International Finance Institutions and the UfM gathered today in Brussels in a high-level meeting organised by the European Commission to share views on how to re-energize inclusive economic growth and support to transition through coordinated assistance in light of the economic challenges in the Southern Mediterranean region.

The Meeting aimed to coordinate efforts among international partners in an attempt to maximize the effectiveness of current aid flows and the impact of development assistance on the reform paths.

UfM Secretary-General, Fathallah Sijilmassi, stressed the importance and priority given to regional and sub-regional cooperation, highlighted the UfM role as regional operational platform, and the efforts undertaken towards reinforcing regional integration through meaningful projects and initiatives.
