The official launch of the UfM-labelled HOMERe project in Marseille will provide an opportunity to discuss young graduates’ transition to an active life in the Mediterranean region and the leverage which transnational company internships can have in helping them access the labour market. The testimonials from the first participants will illustrate how HOMERe works and its added value for young graduates and for companies.

The New Chance Mediterranean Network (MedNC) programme aims at improving the employability of young people who dropped out of school before obtaining a degree and unemployed graduates from Southern Mediterranean countries.

The European Commission – DG Employment – and the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) held the 4th meeting of the High-Level Working Group on Employment and Labour on 28 January 2015 in Brussels.

Participants encouraged the establishment of a Euro-Mediterranean network to exchange information, best practices and innovative programmes on job intermediation.

The 9th Union for the Mediterranean Ministerial Meeting on Industrial Cooperation took place in Brussels with the aim of discussing the business environment in the Mediterranean member countries, assessing the future strategic directions for Euro-Mediterranean industrial cooperation and moving towards a closer collaboration.

The event brought together more than 300 participants from 25 member countries of the Union for the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean Initiative for Jobs (Med4Jobs), a programme developed by the UfM Secretariat to contribute towards job creation and business development in the region, was launched at the conference.
