During the three-day conference, Claudio Cortese, Senior Deputy Secretary General for Business Development; Teresa Ribeiro, Deputy Secretary General for Energy; Naser Tahboub, Deputy Secretary General for Environment and Water; and Salvatore D’Alfonso, UfM Transport and Urban Development project manager, discussed renewable energies, eco-efficiency, green finances, entrepreneurship, education, free zones and the integration of the Maghreb region

The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) have signed an agreement to strengthen the private sector’s involvement in economic and social development in the Mediterranean region.

The 5th Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Marrakech, Morocco, brought together Heads of State, high level government officials, global entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporate leaders and young entrepreneurs to exchange views and experiences for empowering entrepreneurship and innovation.

Over 25 private sector representatives from more than 10 countries participated in the seminar together with the Heads of Cooperation from EU Delegations in Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia.
