The UfM Secretary General and the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed steps forward to enhance cooperation between Greece and the UfM in the fields of energy, maritime transport, environment and water. Greece will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1st January 2014

During the 20th French Annual Ambassadors’ Conference, President Hollande said: “My priority is to develop what I call a Mediterranean of projects… I want the expertise of the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean to be used at maximum”
UfM Secretary General Sijilmassi welcomed the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel García-Margallo, at the premises of the UfM. Both parties agreed on continuing to develop common synergies to boost an operational collaboration based on concrete actions.
A workshop on “The Methods of Formulation and Presentation of Economic Projects” was held in Tunis on Tuesday 10th July by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in collaboration with Tunisia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Secretary General Sijilmassi addressed the audience in a panel devoted to “Partnership and Institution Building in the Southern Mediterranean”.
The Senior Official Meeting of the UFM took place in Barcelona on June 28th
