10th Meeting of the UfM Working Group on Blue Economy

23 March 2022 – The 10th Meeting of the UfM Working Group on Blue Economy will take place in person in Brussels and online, on 23 March 2022. The meeting aims at:
• Presenting and exchanging on the Roadmap for the implementation of the UfM Ministerial Declaration on Sustainable Blue Economy (adopted on February 2nd, 2021).
• Sharing the calendar of events due to take place this year.
• Discussing updates and synergies among countries and stakeholders on ongoing activities related to sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean, including the European Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, the capitalization phase of the Plastic Busters Initiative, Maritime Spatial Planning in the Mediterranean, shared methods and tools for relaunching a sustainable post COVID-19 tourism model, and coastal wetlands in the Mediterranean Basin.
• Interacting on upcoming activities and opportunities for collaboration, including in the context of the launch of ENI CBC Med Capitalization projects, 2021-2027 Interreg NEXT programmes, and the Interreg Euro-MED 2021-2027 programme and its Governance axis. Maritime safety and security of blue economy activities in the Mediterranean, and upcoming CINEA calls and ongoing activities will also be discussed.
Strong participation from countries and stakeholders is expected.
