The region will be facing a 98% increase in energy demand by 2040. The challenge ahead lies in attracting energy investment to reinforce the transition towards a sustainable and resilient economy. Danielsson and Sijilmassi opened the 1st UfM Working Group on Environment and Climate Change, held in Palau de Pedralbes, Barcelona. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) today hosts the first General Assembly of the Mediterranean Youth Climate Network (MYCN) in Barcelona. The MYCN carries out actions to fight climate change in order to promote awareness, advocate solutions, share experiences and support local initiatives. Barcelona, 24 February 2017.
