Workshop on Minimum Viable Product development to empower female entrepreneurs

The Workshop on Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Development, co-organized by UfM and Womenpreneur-Initiative, and supported by GIZ, was held online on July 11th from 9h30AM – 12h30PM CEST. The workshop was attended by 60 female entrepreneurs from the Euro-Mediterranean region working in diverse industries and start-ups. The Expert trainer, Mr Ismail Zohdy. covered the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, test, and validate product ideas using the Minimum Viable Product approach. EU Green Week 2023: Making the Green Transition Gender Inclusive

In the framework of the #EUGreenWeek 2023, the UfM, FAO, CIHEAM, and PRIMA co-organised a webinar on “Women as key players in greening Mediterranean food systems: drivers and challenges” on the 5th of June 2023 from 14h to 16h. The webinar aimed to provide a space to discuss how we can tackle the significant gender gaps and empower women in building resilient and inclusive food systems in the Mediterranean region. Civil Protection: Euro-Mediterranean partners launch regional programme to prevent natural and man-made disasters

The ‎“Prevention, Preparedness and Response to natural and ‎man-made Disasters”‎ (PPRD) Mediterranean programme was launched today in Rome, only a few weeks after fatal floods claimed more than a dozen lives, displaced over 20,000 people, and caused extensive damage to thousands of homes and acres of cropland in the Emilia-Romagna region. The programme aims to increase the resilience to natural and man-made disasters in the Southern Neighbourhood countries and the Mediterranean region by reinforcing cooperation and partnerships between the EU and Mediterranean countries under the umbrella of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). Mediterranean Tech Women Network Festival 2022

More than a hundred participants including women entrepreneurs, experts and civil society representatives gathered in Madrid on 30 November to discuss ways to strengthen the role of women in the tech field in the face of the gender disparities within this sector. The event also celebrated three prominent women in their own sector, by awarding them with three different categories’ prizes: Tech Leader Award, Tech Entrepreneur Award, and Social Tech Award. NEMAUSUS project meeting

14 December 2022, Barcelona. As part of the NEMAUSUS project, which brings together 7 EU countries, a meeting aimed at bringing together and fifteen experts in forest fires, called “Reference group” was held on December 14 at the UfM, which supports this project. Funded by DG ECHO, it aims to prefigure the creation of future thematic centres on natural and technological risks in Europe, the first of which, dedicated to forest fires, will be created in France. UfM Member States commit to strengthen the role of women in society in response to regional crises

The Ministers in charge of gender equality from the 42 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) endorsed today in Madrid a Ministerial Declaration to accelerate the strengthening of women’s role in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The Ministers agreed to enhance legal frameworks, improve women’s access to leadership in public life and decision-making, raise women´s participation in economic life and combat and prevent violence against women and girls. International experts discuss gender-smart financing to empower women in the MENA region

The UfM and UNIDO join forces for the Women Business Forum, a two-day hybrid event in Barcelona and livestreamed online 20 July 2022, Barcelona.
