Barcelona, 23 April, 2013. The UfM Secretariat hosted from 23 to 25 April a seminar organized by the College of Europe on “the Euro‐Mediterranean Partnership and the Union for the Mediterranean”. This seminar is part of an EC funded project targeting EU neighbouring countries. The general objective is to enhance the professional skills of relevant staff from public administrations of these countries and to enable them to gain a better understanding of the European Neighbourhood Policy and other relevant EU policies. Geneva, 17 April 2013. UfM Secretariat Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Yigit Alpogan, and International Road Transport Union (IRU) Secretary General Emeritus, Mr. Martin Marmy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim to further facilitate and secure trade around the Mediterranean basin by implementing key UN multilateral trade and transport facilitation instruments, such as the TIR and Harmonization Conventions.
