Barcelona, 12 January 2016. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) strongly condemns the terrorist attack ‎perpetrated today in Istanbul, Turkey. Union for the Mediterranean granted observer status at the United Nations

Barcelona, 22 December 2015. The United Nations General Assembly adopted in December the Resolution A/70/124, granting observer status to the Union for the Mediterranean, at the initiative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Co-President of the Union for the Mediterranean, and with the sponsorship of the UfM Member States. COP21 Paris Agreement: UfM to support achievement of climate action objectives in the Mediterranean

UfM welcomes the adoption of the Paris Agreement by all the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a major breakthrough in tackling climate change.
