UfM Deputy Secretary General Delphine Borione represented the UfM Secretariat in the 8th Mediterranean Economic Week, held in Marseille from 5 to 8 November. This year’s edition focused on tourism as a driver of economic development in the Mediterranean region.

• The Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation through ERANET Joint Activities and Beyond (ERANETMED) initiative launches its first transnational call for research project proposals with the following themes: Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, Water Resources Management and the Energy-Water Nexus.

• The proposal submission deadline is 31 January 2015. The total budget allocated for project funding under the ERANETMED initiative is €13,720, 000.

The Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes is seeking to recruit executives and specialist professors as part of its permanent staff.

• Skills for Success: Employability Skills for Women will support 450 young women and girls from Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia in acquiring the tools, knowledge and skills needed to access local labour markets.

• Additionally, a workshop on vocational training for girls and women has been held to analyse the current context in Lebanon and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
