A lecture on “UfM: an Operational Platform for Dialogue and Regional Integration” will be given by UfM Secretary General Sijilmassi this evening at 7:00 pm at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI).
Bringing together some 200 participants from 35 countries, the conference created a unique momentum for dialogue at political and technical levels, allowing the exchange of best practices in the field of gender equality, the signature of cooperation and financing agreements, as well as the official launching of specific projects.
The project was launched today on the occasion of the ‘Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment: Projects for Progress’ Conference. Co-funding for the implementation of the first phase has been secured by Norway and Flanders. The training courses will start in the coming months in Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco, then in Lebanon and Egypt.

The UfM-labelled project, Euro-Mediterranean Masters & PhDs, will be implemented at Universities which are part of the EMUNI network, promoter of the initiative. The project aims to increase the employability of students by offering higher education courses related to the priorities of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
